In 2014, BMW launches its first Hybrid sports car, the i8. This beautiful car, is the Bavarian commitment to automotive trends to use electric cars combined with gasoline. AC Schnitzer, is a German Preparer specialized in tuning cars and trucks, especially those of BMW, offers customers an extra level of luxury and performance and here we present the improvements made to the i8 by presenting at the Geneva Motor Show 2017.
For its exterior aesthetics, we have a body kit made of Carbon Fiber, this consists of a new bumper with front and rear diffusers, air intake in the bonnet, rearview mirrors, side air intakes that act as a cooling system in the brakes and a large rear spoiler, were mounted some impressive special forged alloy wheels for this 21-inch model, that match with Michelin Pilot Super Sport tires measuring 245/35 front and 285/30 rear. All this reduces the weight of the vehicle by about 97 pounds (4.4 kg).
In the interior we have few modifications, only some sports seats in leather, a set of carpets in the Velours floor and the I-Drive control, the accelerator pedals with the brake are made of aluminum.
On the Powertrain, AC Schnitzer decided not to alter anything, leaving its original engine and transmission, which consists of a 129 HP electric motor and a 227 HP 3-cylinder gasoline engine that together totals 356 HP. All this makes the BMW i8 start from 0 to 62 mph (0-100 km/h) in just 4.4 seconds and reaches a top speed of 155 mph (250 km/h).
