Tesla came to Motorcar Theatre as a rebel.
The company based in California wanted to confirm that transition to cleaner energy is not impossible. Actually, according to their website, the mission was to accelerate world’s transition to sustainable energy. The saying itself is attractive, even for not so energetic middle-aged generation (like me).
Is Tesla a motorcar company? The company develops electric cars, lithium batteries (energy storage devices) of cutting-edge technology, and solar panels / solar tiles.
Tesla exotic car describes “autonomy” as its most influential feature. What consists of this phenomenon? Tesla exotic car could go driverless or without hands on the steering wheel, because it has Adaptive Cruise Control (ACC) a system that detects your speed and distance to other objects around the car to avoid a crash. There is a lane assist feature to detect the lane stripes drawn along the roads, and to keep the car centred in the lane. Those are the components assist to cry out the “autopilot” scenario in Tesla. Are those features not available in other vehicles?
All the other prestige cars use same features included in their vehicles. However, Tesla was able to have a step ahead. The exotic car watches for any arriving cars, check for safety for the direction you selected and then precede on to the lane. They made the steering, gauges and infotainment not so prominent, but introduced a bigger panel of a touch screen to collect information and to control movements. It gives a new look in the cockpit. Modifications cry for autonomy.
The most touching of the company policies are, they let all their technology patents open source, allowing others to use it, modify it and develop it further. They prove that Tesla stands for the betterment of society. They walked their talk.
Another plus point added to the Tesla group.
The Tesla electric exotic car has 240-310 miles per charge. The car is not a petrol/ gasoline car converted to an electric – it is born electric. The exotic car Tesla is pricier than most of its competitors. With the Federal Tax credit for cleaner energy vehicles, the car price goes down to match most of its rivals. Clean energy, modern technology and talk of the city – who doesn’t want a Tesla?
According to Tesla exotic car users, it is small enough to park in any tight spot. The interior is thrilling, and it declares rebellious vanity along the road. Tesla electric car has all the other exotic car features – a good grip on the road, comfortable seating arrangements, and a panoramic windshield. The “Falcon wing” doors open upward.
Despite the long wait people place orders with a refundable $1,000/- initial payment at Tesla website.
Why such a hype for a Tesla?
I feel it is the true nature of commitment that Tesla made, triggered the hype. It is rebellious, committed and persists on the phenomenon – characteristic of all the inventors.
