The creators of the Vantage have described it as raw and instinctive, unwavering in its singular purpose: to overwhelm the senses through its world-renowned design, agile performance and dedicated craftsmanship. Its heart beats with a high-powered 4.0 litre twin-turbocharged V8, producing that visceral Aston Martin roar. A rare breed and a statement of independence on the road, Vantage embodies all that is beautiful in our performance sports car range. Racetrack, winding country road or the everyday commute, Vantage is an Aston Martin of outstanding class, delivering a drive so intensely felt that it demands to be experienced time and time again.
Aston Martin’s has revealed this new sports car fit for our sexy secret agent, Bond – with a sleek design, a top speed of 195mph and a £121,000 price tag.
While it may not come with the spy gadgets he’s used to, James Bond wouldn’t look out of place in the 2018 Vantage, which can go from 0-60mph in just 3.5 seconds.
The 2018 Vantage features a redesigned cockpit with a lower driving position, new head and tail lights, new side gills, rear wing scoops and a front splitter is designed to direct airflow underneath the car. It is the first Aston Martin to be fitted with an electronic rear differential (e-diff), while other highlights include Pirelli P Zero tyres, and the latest generation Adaptive Damping System which incorporates Skyhook technology and offers the choice of three modes – Sport, Sport Plus and Track.
It can hit its top speed thanks to a four-litre, twin-turbo V8 engine mated to rear-mounted ZF eight-speed automatic transmission.
Standard equipment includes keyless start/stop, parking assist system with sensors and a camera, an entertainment system complete with an 8ins LCD screen and Bluetooth audio and phone streaming, and a built-in sat nav.
Drivers will be in control in the lap of luxury, as the interior features high-end materials including leather seats and carbon fibre.
The new Vantage is the successor to the best-selling Aston Martin ever and is the latest to use the name since it was first introduced in 1951. However, deliveries are due to begin by mid-2018 so the super-rich will have to wait a few more months to get their hands on one.
Andy Palmer, Aston Martin’s chief executive officer, said in a statement: “It speaks volumes for the outgoing Vantage that it is the single most successful model in Aston Martin’s history. Creating a worthy successor has been a challenge to relish and a huge source of motivation. I’m enormously excited by what we’ve created: a new Vantage that’s more explicit in looks and intent, wrapping heart-pounding performance and dazzling dynamics into an everyday usable package. A true sports car with a sharper look and a keener dynamic edge, the new Vantage is the Aston Martin pure driving machine enthusiasts have been waiting for.”
