Supercharged Bonneville SSEi

The highlight of the Chicago auto show was this 1992 Bonneville, which should strut into Pontiac showrooms this fall. The top-of-the-line SSEi shown here features an Eaton-supercharged 3.8-litre V-6 producing 195 hp at 4400 rpm and an aggressive 255 pound-feet of torque at 3200 rpm. Standard equipment includes traction control, anti-lock brakes, a head-up instrument display, driver and passenger airbags, and electronic ride control. The new Bonneville is 2.5 inches longer and 1.5 inches wider than its predecessor, yet Pontiac says the Cd has dropped to an impressive 0.30.Four-wheel drive was originally part of the SSH package, but consumers in clinics objected to its cost.
