By 1996, Porsche is expected to unveil an aluminum-bodied front-engined sedan called the 989. It will share a 4.2-liter allow V-8 with the rear-engined 911 replacement, currently code-named 911-2000, (What, no area code?) The latter may appear as early as 1994 as a ’95 model, and the tip-of-the-flagpole twin-turbo variant, the spiritual successor to 911 Turbo, is said to have no difficulty belching out the 450 hp.
